Makayla Sheffield
Makayla Sheffield is the Children’s Church Director at Bread of Life Fellowship. Makayla grew up going to church but truly came to know the Lord, and was saved at Bread of Life Fellowship in 2022. Shortly after she started attending the church, Makayla began working as an assistant in the classroom, then began teaching lessons herself. In October of 2023, after a year of serving in Children’s ministry, she took on the role of Children’s Church Director. Makayla’s nanny, Opal Bennett, who went to be with the Lord in April of 2021 instilled in her and many other members of their family that they could do anything with Christ no matter your age. Makayla’s dreams are to carry that legacy on through Children’s ministry, inspiring each child, no matter how young or old they are, their vital roles in the Kingdom of God. She believes in the importance of mentoring and speaking life into the young hearts of the future generations to come. Nothing fills her heart with more joy than seeing children come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” is a verse Makayla heard many times growing up and is the verse behind her work in the Children’s Ministry. Makayla has aspirations to one day share the gospel in the nations and lead more youth to Christ. Makayla couldn’t do anything without the encouragement of her family and husband Derek Sheffield. Makayla is a kitty mama to two, Ozzy and Remy.
